Ed Chaiy By Eng Rithchandaneth, Chev Doeurn and San Ra

The Khmer word Ed Chaiy has no direct translation into English, but it refers to the people who walk the streets of Phnom Penh collecting recycleable materials - bottles, cardboard and the like.

This film by Daneth, Doeurn and Ra shows the life of a recycler named Leang Va, and her husband, who work pick up recycling and sell it at the White Building in order to raise her three adopted grandchildren and send them to school.
